What is Vietnamese Grilled Port Rice Vermicelli?
Vermicelli with grilled pork is a popular and loved dish in all 3 regions of Vietnam.
Each place keeps its own unique flavor depending on the taste of each North, Central and South.
This Vietnamese rice noodle dish can be used as a breakfast, a main meal or a mid-meal meal.
The dish is a combination of many different food ingredients such as meat, vegetables, vermicelli, peanuts…
Ingredients to prepare to make grilled pork vermicelli noodles:
Pork: 700g (should choose lean meat)
Spring rolls (fried): 4-5 pieces
Vietnamese Vermicelli: 1 bag
Green onion: 2 branches
Vegetables: lettuce, lemon, fresh chili, cucumber, pickles, mint, perilla, marjoram (quantity depends on your preference)
Roasted peanuts: 100g
Condiments: fish sauce, soy sauce, pepper, sugar, cooking oil, minced onion and garlic, soy sauce and oyster sauce.
Steps to make grilled pork vermicelli:
Step 1: Prepare ingredients
After buying pork, clean, drain and slice thinly into a bowl. Marinate the meat with minced onion and garlic, sugar, soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, honey and mix well until the sugar dissolves. Then let the meat infuse the spices for at least 1 hour (if possible, marinate the meat overnight).
After buying vegetables, pick up the back part, wash and dry. Wash cucumber and cut into bite-sized slices.
Rinse fresh vermicelli through boiling water to clean.

Step 2: How to marinate grilled meat
In order for the dish to taste delicious, the way to marinate the meat to make grilled pork vermicelli is very important. So, when doing this step, please be a little careful.
You marinate the meat as follows: for 1 teaspoon of onion and 1 teaspoon of minced garlic, ½ tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of fish sauce, 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce, ½ tablespoon of honey and mix. Then, you put the meat in the refrigerator to let the flavors infuse for at least 1 hour (if possible, marinate the meat overnight).
Step 3: Grill the meat
You can grill meat with an oven or a charcoal grill, but usually grilling meat with a charcoal stove will give it a better taste.
If you’re using an oven, bake the meat at 375 degrees F for 10 to 15 minutes.
If you are grilling meat on a charcoal grill, spread the meat evenly on the grill, not overlapping. During the baking process, you can coat the meat with a layer of cooking oil to make it more attractive.
Step 4: Make sweet and sour fish sauce
You make the broth according to the following recipe: 2 tablespoons fish sauce, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 2 tablespoons sugar, 4 tablespoons filtered water, 2 teaspoons garlic, minced chili, stir well.
Step 5: Present the dish
You put the vermicelli in the bowl first and put the grilled meat, spring rolls, vegetables on the top, add the onion fat, spread the roasted peanuts evenly over the barbecue, serve with the dipping sauce on the side (don’t add it first because it depends on your taste)
